The Bubble tells the story of Noam, a disillusioned Israeli solder who falls in love with Ashraf, a closeted Palestinian man, in the early 2000s during the Second Intifada, a time of intensified Israeli-Palestinian violence. After meeting at a border checkpoint, Ashraf risks everything by sneaking into Israel without a permit to live with Noam and his roommates in Tel Aviv.

Adapted from the 2006 film The Bubble by Eytan Fox & Gal Uchovsky, this explosive new musical by Janine McGuire & Arri Lawton Simon pulses with energy, urgency, and hope for a more peaceful world.

The Bubble has been developed/incubated at the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop, The Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellowship, Goodspeed Musicals, The Johnny Mercer Writers Grove, New York Theatre Barn, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, and The York Theatre.
